An educational site :D . Ask him about skull attack too

Me: "Koch en guat duya nooo a-boat Skull attack"

in my best Irish/Scottish/Indian accent.
We are in California...
Sorry, I don't know that saying?
Thats the point here in California when we try to imitate the British accent we --- it up and say things in a hybrid Inidan/Irish/Scotish "accent"

"Coach what do you know about skull attack"

I fear that Vettel will be in the role of Kimi. They will give him an unprofitable tire strategy, or they will keep him on the track without a pit stop for an extra 4-5 laps, until he starts to lose 2-3-4 seconds per lap.
That's kind of what i was thinking as well.
  • Most likely gets sent out for qualifying in whatever order helps Lec.
  • Always gets the less beneficial tasks for practice.
  • Always get the lesser of the two strategy options unless Lec is miles behind or has an accident or technical issue before the first stop.
And I say tension, because Ferrari will look bad, and have egg on their face if Vet clearly beats Lec. If that looks like it might happen, I expect random strategy and pistop mistakes to start happening.
Yeah, 100%. Or use him as road block if he is behind Lec but ahead of Merc/RB

I think if they try that sort of thing he'll just say "I'm pitting this lap" and drive in to the pits. He's not one to play the number 2 for a season.

If I was on his place, I would have done that - "I'm going to pit" 8)

Yes, saying Vettel was included in the best line up in F1 is a clear outright lie. To be fair to Binnoto, he did not say "best line up possible". Furthermore, Binnoto may actually believe what he said on camera, but could have been forced by his superiors to get rid of Vettel. What is clear is that getting rid of Vettel is an upgrade for Ferrari.

I hope that does not happen.
That may very well be the only way they can rack up a win this season.

I won't be watching qualifying - UK pubs are allowed to open on Saturday and I shall be popping down to my local for a jar or two... =P~

Much better than trawling the web looking for a stream of qualifying.
You mean to tell me you're going to be celebrating our Independence Day in the pub with a few pints? :)

I've never heard a pint called a jar, is that common in the UK?

I own a brewery and we've been serving people for several weeks now in the US. I haven't seen anyone wear a mask. Rates aren't going up in our area and I don't believe the crap the media is spewing here, either.

Enjoy your new found freedom. I will be having some pints as well. I'll catch the quali replay on ESPN. I'm cautiously optimistic Red Bull will be strong here.
I think the 'Jar' term is an Australian thing.
It’s not used much these days tho, mainly it’s a Pint, schooner, midi or pot depending on which state you are in.

I think Vettel will openly defy any team orders, so it could be a lot of fun. Don't think Leclerc will get any favours off him whatsoever.

Anyone holding out that Ferrari may have been bluffing a little?

I thought their car looked decent to the naked eye in testing and certainly cornered well. Whilst the lap times were not eye catching they did improve markedly towards the end of the test.

If there is too much drag we will see that fairly clearly this weekend in Austria I would imagine?

I think it depends on his plans after this season. If he's going to retire, he can do what he likes. If he's hoping to drive with some other team, he'll have to consider his image. Being hard-arsed with the team won't do him favours in future negotiations.

Here's hoping for a close race and that no one is blighted by unreliability or a loose wheel nut. I want to see cars racing and pushing each other, not processions dictated by luck rather than a team's skill.

Here's also hoping the stewards all have the same rulebook out this year...but I suspect that's a vain hope.
2007 - Beats 2005 & 2006 WDC Alonso. 1-0
2008-09 - Beats Kovalainen. 2-0
2010-12 - Beats 2009 WDC Button. 2-1
2013-16 - Beats 2016 WDC Rosberg. 3-1
2017-21 - Beats Bottas. 5-0
2022-24 - Loses to Russell. 1-2 (but outscores him)
2025-?? - Leclerc. TBC
Just the car???
