Horner did not answer whether they had developed a DAS-like system after saying they asked the FIA for clarification and that they would like to see whether it even has a performance advantage (or what the use is in the first place), the sky guys then interpreted the non-answer as confirmation that RBR has DAS ... it's silly really ...

So apparently Red Bull has also managed to develop a DAS system for this race here as Christian Horner said to Crofty they`re waiting for some FIA clarification regarding this matter instead of filling a protest against Merc`s DAS!
Is that so?
I'm not sure. Asking for clarification is also a way of protesting. Ferrari's (suspected) recent fuel flow trickery was also handled by clarification requests.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

On another note, Merc has had a little bit of a race stint of 13-14 laps at the end of the first session.
The average time was 1:08,5 sec/lap but worth to note the consistent times set from both drivers, especially for LH.
And also they are on top 5-speed traps list now ...

It`s early days but seems to be good right now ... more to see in FP2 ...
Interesting! That was quick. And if true, seems like it could be quite a valuable addition to the car.
On Sky F1 they speculated is more to gain than tyre management and boost the top speed and on the official site this was mentioned: https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/arti ... nzQ1D.html

Makes sense, straight line handling will be a little smoother too.

What if coronavirus flares up again in autumn and the season is suddenly curtailed early at 14 races but people have already taken more components in anticipation of 15 or more how do you apply penalties then? Do you go back and do something? Or apply penalties for the next season?

Yo! Long time no see errbody, hope all is well and if not hope things get better soon.

Nice to see F1 back, hopefully they take maximum precautions.

Merc looking great in black, both aesthetically and purpose-wise.

Just saw that bit of Mattia being interviewed. Sounds juicy. It's like they just pulled the plug on Seb with intention.

Were Mercedes actively using DAS?
Yes. Bottas was also shown using it mid corner during his warm-up lap.

I think it is a bluff if the front of the Chassis is not changed. RedBull has a reveresed front steering arm. Extremely radical changes to their front bulkhead is needed to fit DAS. And i am sure they did not have a version of chassis lined up. So yeah.. Another Horner/Marko Bluff.

Likely situation, Sebastian declared that it would be number one or bust. Then Ferrari were like Ok. Bye.

From the team POV it totally makes sense to go with Leclerc. He's clearly got the potential to be at least Vettel's equal, he's much younger, he's much cheaper, and they can concentrate on him as sole number 1 driver.

However, they've gone about it in a bit of a poor way.

Also, Red Bull have lodged a protest about DAS. Just talking about it on Sky. Horner is talking about it like a hypothetical protest as he would do, but sounds very much like it's been done.
