What about the PINK//Mercedes I'm sure they could lend them a hand. Sergio likes being a whistle blower'.

I'm sure they can "protest" for the BLM Mercedes if they asked them to. So they could know if DAS is legal before Qualifying.

Also, Red Bull have lodged a protest about DAS. Just talking about it on Sky. Horner is talking about it like a hypothetical protest as he would do, but sounds very much like it's been done.
If I was Merc, I'd have lodged a protest against myself today so I'd know what the outcome would be before Quali. Otherwise, someone would definitely protest it for the race and that's a much greater risk.
That makes some sense to be honest. Is it possible for a team to protest/seek clarification about their own car? I guess no reason why not.

From the way he was talking in the way he is prone to, it was definitely Red Bull/Horner.

I'd bet a good chunk that the PINK//PIG//TEAM have made sure they've got a full paper trail for the design of their car. Nothing in the rules says you can't copy another team's details - that's a civil issue of copyright. If Mercedes don't take an action, no one else can.
Oh well I'm sure Redbull and Ferrari will be faster then Racing Point very quickly but Perez being able to confidently fight for P5 is great news for a small team like PINK// Mercedes

I wouldn't be so sure, especially if the Racing Point qualifies ahead of a Redbull or Ferrari they may struggle to get past with the Racing Point's straight-line speed.

I really don't think the TOP 3 will be bothered by Pink Mercedes I just don't their speed is amazing but this is free practice. By the time Qualifying comes Pink Merc will be be P6 capable of fighting for P5 but I don't think ahead of Ferrari or Redbull. Both Redbulls will find their way ahead of everyone else to fight alongside Mercedes but either 1 Ferrari or both will solidly lead for P5/6. With Racing Point there to bother for P5/6. But being fast in Free practice means nothing.

And is it just me or does anyone else find the new Mercedes livery absolutely awful?

Looking at Mercedes huge pace advantage they should just remove DAS from tomorrow onwards until they get clarification, they will still be ahead.

I dont know about others, but the car looks stunning on track compared to the first photos
The soft tyres with black and red matches the car so much

It's not bad it's not great it could be better.

But I do support their Political Statement.

But all of the car Black?

I'm not sure it fits Mercedes maybe a Black Chrome would have been nicer given the silver tradition of Mercedes. But it's not bad it's just not that great'. The HAAS looked really great recently. The Renault is also not bad but not great.

I just feel like it's hard to make a beautiful Black car. Because it can easily be done wrong.

So idk it's not bad.... But it's not great lol.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I think it's good. The gloss black does however show up all the imperfections in the surface of the bodywork and in the paintwork, which is curious as you would have assumed the Mercedes-AMG F1 would be finished to a higher standard than it is. However many road Mercedes are indeed black, and even on mid-range E class coupes, the amount of orange peel is unreal.

The Racing Point is matching the RedBull in the long run.
