Serious question: would a tire allocation of C1-C3-C5 have given the audience a better variety of strategies instead of the current allocation of C2-C3-C4?

Yeah, I actually think rain will be a leveller for Ferrari given most of their lost time is in a straight line.
With that handling..... and the history of both drivers in the wet... nah... with rain it will be a Hamilton-Verstappen masterclass

I am gonna go for a risky prediction and say a Mercedes 1-2 in both Quali and Race

Hopefully a wet one just to stop it being almost a copy paste of the last one, if its dry I can see Red Bull just doing the opposite of Mercedes in Q2 whether its soft or mediums .

Have Pirelli given us the same compounds this week as well?

I thought they were going to have different ones

Nope, same compounds. Silverstone double header has different compounds.

I do wonder if the weather is similar, is there much to learn in the friday running? Or will it be better to save engine life?

Max said he wasn't happy with his set up after qualifying so Red Bull will be working on that and Mercedes probably want to try some solutions to help ride those curbs.

A big question that I still have, is was it actually a mechanical problem with the car, or an issue related to the sensors not liking the vibrations caused by the curbs.

Or was it the great Mercedes show. You know, like when they say over the radio the tyres are dead and then produce the fastest lap? Or when they say the engine is about to go but still outdrag competitors.

Nope, everyone would choose C1-c3-c3 I doubt anyone would choose c3-c5, also because qualifying on the c3 would set you back.

If they wanted strategy variety c1/2/3 would have been the best choice, but the c1 might blister around here if used for more than 10 laps or so, specifically on the left side.

Considering we heard similar radio messages from Racing Point, it most likely wasn't a show!

I hope it rains for both quali and race, to the extent that both events can still be possible. It would atleast nullify the great advantage that Mercedes has and we can see some bold racing that can provide an opportunity to Leclerc to be in play. With the kind of dog he has, he would again be left to the mercy of luck.
