Considering last year's Merc was the fastest car on Low and Medium speed corners, and considering that RP20 is W10.5, and considering that this year Merc's not as fast as it was last year on such corners, could this mean that Racing Point and Red Bull be the leading teams in Hungaroring? 🤔

Who said the Merc wasn't still the fastest in slow corners?

The RB16 was the fastest in slow corners around Red Bull Ring (T3/4) and that's despite Merc running more wing than they did.

Why? What's the point of sticking him in the car and taking time away from the real drivers? It's not like he is a future talent that they're bringing on and want to give some experience. Sadly, his rallying accident ended his F1 career.
If Kimi ends up replacing Sebastian at Ferrari mid-season (for whatever reason), Kubica would need to step into his seat.

The more Kubica is in the car, the more likely it is for Seb to leave Ferrari before the end of 2020.

Really? Well, if you truly subscribe to that notion, I strongly advise you NOT to look up photos of the Merc's wings from the last two weekends (to avoid compering vs the Red Bull's and vs what they typically run with - keeping in mind that, even a bigger wing will have lower angle of attack on the low rake Mercs)... Visiting Juzh's youtube channel (for comparisons of the two cars with similar aero setups), would also be ill-advised for you...

I did see a few pictures which suggested a pretty skinny wing on the Mercedes, but I only saw comparison to 2019 and not to any other 2020 cars, so no idea in relation to the Red Bull.

I wouldn't try and draw any conclusions about who's fastest in a given corner type from anything but sector 3 in austria. It's far better to be faster on the straits in sectors 1 & 2 than it is the turns.

In general I wouldn't make many concolusions from Austria, it's a freak of a track.

This.
It's not that simple. Mercedes might have optimised their car for the whole lap in Spielberg and that might have meant sacrificing some slow-corner performance. They wouldn't have to do that in Hungary. Secondly, Mercedes still had the best performance in sector 3 of Circuit de Catalunya in testing and that is more representative. Finally, teams bring their high downforce package which is a completely different car, aerodynamically, so I wouldn't bet against Mercedes in a month of Sundays.

it's correct of course, that different components, setups and so on (compared to Austria) will have an influence, but I'd say the fact that Red Bull was quickest in the slow corners (more of those in Hunagry) and that Mercedes gained most of their advantage at the end of the long straights (none of those in Hungary) due to more efficiant ERS, at least makes it reasonable to believe that it's gonna be a lot closer at the front.
