Excellent recoveries by Verstappen and Vettel. Stroll looked pretty good, too. What happened to the McLarens?

Oh, and apparently Hamilton won again.

Bad start for Norris and both lost out to traffic in the pitstops.

Stroll could literally win the race and you haters would be on here insisting he should have won by more. I can see criticizing drivers but some of you guys are over the top. For a guy 21 yrs old in only starting his 4th yr he's doing a lot better than a number of other drivers on the grid. He will probably never win a championship but you could name a ton of other drivers who are in that category. Does it bug you guys that much that his father bought a team and that he has been given the chance to succeed on that teem? If you were in that position tell me you would not do the same? Yeah, i can just see you tough guys dumping your kid, right. Time to [...] admit a CANADIAN dad and his kid are doing a pretty good job in F 1 and in business. Aston Martin next year, can't wait.

How about all those who thought, last year it was a no brainer with 2 stops for Lewis and him hauling Verstappen? This year, with much better car, Bottas couldn't replicate it. That's the difference a driver makes.
It was opposite tyre strategy. Last year Mercedes went for softer tyre, this year they went for harder(probably ran out of M).

Bottas used up too much of his tyres in the early phase looking back at the laptimes.

I think you have to face the fact he will ALWAYS have the fact his father paid for his drive and then bought a team hanging over him. Let’s be 100% honest he would most likely not be in F1 otherwise.

However, he’s a decent driver and earning his place in the team at the moment. It would be excruciating if he were getting trounced by Perez every race but he’s holding his own this season- sizeable points gap last season though. Good qualifying and he’s very tidy in the wet. He’s been very good this season so far.

HOWEVER, I think it does run people up the wrong way when it’s likely Perez will be jettisoned for Vettel. Again if his dad didn’t own the team, clearly that wouldn’t be happening.

A much bigger performance difference between Mercedes and Red Bull than last year, which easily offsets the performance difference between the compounds.

That's not new. He always struggles with tyres in races, relative to Lewis.

Stroll, with a great drive, should be the driver of the day.
Agreed, he was flawless all weekend.

El Scorchio How many drivers have got into F1 because of connections. Either though sponsor connections or ex F1 driver father connections or buying their rides.. If it bothers some people tough ---. There are a few things that bother me about how F1 operates but it is what it is. Time to get over it. If stroll keeps beating perez why shouldn't it be perez thats replaced by Vettle. Seems normal to me.

Perez is OK ish. In the dry. He has a big ego too. Stroll does actually not have that. A merit for someone who grew up having everything. I am not that impressed with Stroll though. Should that change now that he is driving a 2019,5 Mercedes?

Penalty for both Haas cars for instructing drivers to pit (+10s). Also no penalty for Albon

Yes. When he was asked for his opinion on “pay drivers” Alain Prost just said his whole racing career was paid for by Elf. No team ever paid his wages.
