It's amazing how far ahead Lewis is before he catches up to traffic in sector 3.

Thats not even the fastest lap from 2020!? Formula 1 can't even get that right. The lap they show there was Lewis' first flying lap after his last stop (lap 68 I think) oh F1 people

His fastest lap has that atrocious helmet facing camera turned on for entire S3, thats why they didnt take that lap. They moved hamilton forward at the start to keep him ahead until finish line, so yeah, completely doctored and pointless video.

turn 4 and 11, both cars are almost identical, medium speed and traction the W11 is in another league

What is most interesting is that the W10 is actually quicker in a straight line.

Likely a lower downforce setup so a bit less drag.

to be just as quick through the most downforce dependent corners (4/11) id say its a more efficient aero set up rather than lower DF.

Just curious what if bottas would just have floored it when he knew it could be seen as jumpstart what would the penalty would have been compared to how many places he lost now. Funny vettel complaining about something which he did also and got away with.

It was not his intention to play foul, he just made a mistake. Intentional foul play is usually punished (and rightfully so) harder. a DSQ perhaps? If you start flooring on very false starts it might be considered a danger.

Intention is not really the base for punishment. And he could have (or even has) affected others with this start. And that is part of the defenition of a jump start for me.

If he’d zipped off past Hamilton there would have been a penalty, no doubt, just as if he’d have caused a crash. And this is why the penalty system is so stupid. They’ll slap a penalty (or not) onto an incident depending on the consequences of it rather than the incident itself.

Think about Vettel in Canada last year. Had Hamilton got past a corner or two later after the unsafe re-entry or whatever they called it, would they have penalised Vettel? Of course not.

You are right. He should have been punished. Just not as hard as if he did it on purpose.

You most certainly can get punished for intention. Black flag, Super licence taken away. Etc. I think making a very false start and keeping flooring it would require a very good excuse as a reason for doing so (stuck throttle or something) as I expect a grave penalty will be given for it.
