Racing Point RP20

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I don’t remember them bringing out any updates since Austria. No surprise there as the car is a reverse-engineered W10 aerodynamically.

In previous years they were great in Spa but this is not their creation. Im curious to see what happens at Monza that will let us have a stronger idea of whats going on with the car.

Had read an article claiming Mercedes were running their engines without party mode in the quali. Did the customer teams follow the same.

Less angle on the main plane for Racing Point. No gurney on the top flap.

Slightly different to the W10’s solution from last year, no curve in the main plane.

Did any upgrades come in Monza? They have been talking about upgrades for ages but I haven't seen any other than rear wings! What do you think the production hold up is?

maybe its hard for them to improve that car which is very evolved at most aspects.
maybe a reason why mercedes changed nearly every aspect of the car to have more room to do it?

A large part of improvement comes in understanding the car.

Outside of that, there most likely is sufficient room to update the car as Mercedes didn't need to develop all that much last year. They pretty much ceased all development mid-season.

That's quite a departure from the sidepods it came with and Mercedes' own sidepod packaging.
