Plus, give him a car he likes and he is very fast. See 2014 - 2015 transformation. New team, lots of energy in a car he liked. 3 wins and 3rd in the championship and closer to Nico points wise than Nico to Lewis.

So Vettel to Aston Martin all but officially confirmed, that's the only possible reason why they would drop Perez.

Perez himself is fast and has sponsorship backing, he will have the likes of Haas and Alfa Romeo practically fighting over him.

Kimi is out of contract and expected to retire at the end of 2020, Alfa Romeo will likely change both drivers considering Ferrari chooses for one seat (currently Giovinazzi) and there are 3 current Ferrari academy drivers 1-2-3 in the 2020 F2 season. If Alfa can get Perez they will take him plus one of the Ferrari juniors, Gio is almost definitely gone because he hasn't really impressed and Ferrari has some serious talent to find seats for. Maybe even 2 Ferrari juniors if Perez goes elsewhere.

Red Bull for Perez is probably just wishful thinking especially given Gasly's race win, Red Bull will keep Albon and Gasly in some combination, drop Kvyat and bring in Yuki Tsunoda at Alpha Tauri for Honda.

Williams would love to get Perez but probably not his first choice and they would have to break contract with Latifi so unlikely.

How odd to have that Perez statement come out today, then get confirmation later he is leaving the team. I am not impressed with how Racing Point are going about this.

This is from an AMuS interview with Szafnauer in Monza. Also the translation "So Sebastian Vettel is out? "He was never considered" is wrong.

I don’t speak German. Can you provide us your version of an accurate translation?

The article isn't a literal translation but more an interpretation.
His answer was 'He was never in' which imo leaves some room for interpretation.
