Bottas showed teeth today. Made Hamilton uncomfortable.
You mean the 6 corners in which he was ahead? :?:

Russell my boy...what were you thinking on the final restart? Unbelievable...

I was hoping for a Ricciardo podium but...Albon's podium was a long time coming also!
I’m still yet to be wowed by that guy.
Yeah, me too
Anything less than P3 for Albon after Max retirement would have been bad for him
So P3 is the bare minimum anyone would have expected from him
Nothing special to be honest
If you are right then by your same logic, Hamilton is doing nothing special with the car he has.

Hamilton preserved his tyres better and decides to stay out on the mediums.
Undercut is strong and bottas pits to brand new hards.

This is gonna be close.

Lewis pits now. Hards!

Hmmm, Bottas getting pit stop priority even though Mercedes always give the leader priority...
Do you people never look at live timings screen??

It wasnt going to be close. Bottas' tyres were dead, he lost 8s in the lap before pitting, thats why they gave him an "undercut", which wasnt really an undercut, since they knew hamilton will come out miles ahead.
Apparently they don't.

This was so predictable, I said as much before the race.

Hamilton has got Bottas owned in every way imaginable.

In qualifying was 0.059 short, perhaps denied by the yellow flag. In his start of the race, in his demand to go on an opposite strategy. He was within 1-2 seconds of Lewis. Even Lewis said it in the interview, Bottas did not give him a chance to go into management mode.

If Bottas does this every weekend.

The real secret here and it's one Bottas is working on is, get pole, get into the first corner ahead. A Merc following another Merc rarely gets to overtake on track unless the team switch strategies.

Lance claims he got a puncture but who knows maybe he did it happeed so fast. It's a shame all those car upgrades ended up in the barriers...

No proof of that at all!
In his start of the race,
Which he lost it in the next 2 restarts
in his demand to go on an opposite strategy.
Merc stopped giving opposite strategy to them long long ago, even Lewis used to ask that but Merc wont do that
He was within 1-2 seconds of Lewis. Even Lewis said it in the interview, Bottas did not give him a chance to go into management mode.
Lewis was easily maintaining the required gap, this was evidenced by him tell the team the his tyres are ok and no need to pit when Bottas' tyres were toast. And then banging in 1.2 sec faster lap in the penultimate lap when Bottas came closer, all this shows Lewis was just maintaining the gap to Bottas
If Bottas does this every weekend.
Yeah if he does this every weekend, Lose pole, lose the lead, lose the tyres and toast them, and then waiting for SC to rectify his short comings and still get beat massively. Yeah let him do this every weekend and Lewis will win easily
The real secret here and it's one Bottas is working on is, get pole, get into the first corner ahead. A Merc following another Merc rarely gets to overtake on track unless the team switch strategies.
And yet Lewis remains the only merc driver to successfully pass their teammate without any team help or stratergy.

Thank you coronavirus for making F1 great again.

Racing like it's 1998!

All kidding aside, for you young'uns, this is what F1 was like before everything was analyzed and optimized to death.

I don't remember if/for how long tire changes during red flag stoppages were always permitted? Does anyone have a good overview here?

Although (and funny you used the word death) we were probably a bit lucky no-one was hurt today on that SC restart crash. Lucky the safety was at 2020 standards rather than 1998 standards! Halo really looked like a smart idea from some of those inboards.

Very 1998 having only 12 cars finishing though!
