Hamilton will be desperate to win here. Not for the win numbers or the title, but purely because it was where his idol died. If he wins, I expect a very emotional Hamilton on the podium.

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo E Dino Ferrari was always one of my absolute favorite tracks....before they ruined it.

Still looking forward to returning though!

We have gotten a chance to really enjoy some cool tracks this year; I wish it would continue but I don't think it will.

Not sure if he does it, but if Lewis does a track walk, I would love to see how he handles walking around Tamburello. I know he has raced there in GP2, but that was before he was famous and a very young man. Now he's the most famous of them all and seems to be a very sensitive person. I bet it would be a very touching moment. Also his best result in the 2 races at Imola in GP2 was a 10th place. So hopefully a win this weekend.

Looks like a power sensitive track with very few sweeping corners. Will Renault be a surprise by being second best or will it be the usual pecking order. I suspect the latter, but one can dream though

Does anyone know how long that "straight" is from Turn 18 to Turn 2?

It’s a long way. From Google Earth it’s 1.3km, very bumpy too.

From memory the circuit used to destroy cars, Lehto driving a Dallara ended up on the podium from pre-qualifying iirc. Most people in front of him broke down.

Thank you @Mogster. Is it still bumpy now? Has nothing been done about the asphalt in recent years?

When the SRO GT series was there a couple of months ago the pit straight looked very bumpy. Kyvat remarked about the bumps when AT tested there in June.

It was last resurfaced in 2011 when it regained it's grade1 status so that F1 could race there or testing to take place. This is according to the mighty internet search and finding https://www.racingcircuits.info/europe/italy/imola.html

Looks like a couple of overtaking opportunities outside of the DRS zone.

I love this track...had been waiting for a comeback years and years! And we get a comeback with the fastest cars ever...nice! Saturday Qualy will be epic!

Curious to see how just one Practice Session will impact the pecking order...or if it will impact it at all! From what we saw at Nurburgring only the midfield teams got impacted!

Leclerc for the win here! I don't know how...but we need a win like this right now! The championship has become way too boring with HAM-BOT-VER podiums all the time...even for me, a Hamilton-Mercedes fan!

Rain for God's sake...what the hell this season?? Why can't we get rain in 2020?? Even at Nurburgring it didn't rain...at Portimao the first laps were epic!

Or Albion. Just to give Horner a nightmare.
