Not sure on the laptime , but turn 8 easy peasy. Wasn't it flat 10 years ago ?

T8 will be easy flat. The question is what it will do to the tyres - I can see the front right causing problems after a few laps.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

It was only flat for Red Bull back then with the aero advantage they had, but it should be flat for all teams due to the bigger tyres and current aero regs.

It's not even a corner any more, less so with the re-paving. Sector 2 will be a big engine test as it now only comprises 2 corners, the uphill right, and the chicane after "turn 8"

Sectors 1 & 3 are short straights and 2 auto X courses, corners are painfully and frustratingly slow, ugh.

Yeah I've done a lot of this circuit on some of the F1 games and rFactor over the years. Is always a good circuit to drive in my opinion. Should make for some good racing and overtaking, will be interesting if cars can follow flat through turn 8.

Surely they'll be in the 21s. 1.22 is not that much faster than 2011 pole. Track's also been resurfaced I've heard?
Turn 8 will be flat easily, ofcourse, but probably not in the race.

T8 isn't a corner anymore? Fairly sure the drivers will think it is, as will the tyres!

I wonder if the repaving is like it was in Portimao.

In 2011 cars had unlimited DRS in qualifying, and the cars weighed a lot less than they do now(100+kg). I think that's going to slow cars down in sector 3. Those corners are really slow and the weight of the cars and power will make it more difficult, especially the exit of the final corner.

No doubt the cars have more downforce and power, so they're going to fly in sectors 1 & 2.

I'm a bit skeptical of it (being in quali), because the speed dropped quite a bit in the middle, while RB6's speed nearly stayed flat through the whole corner.

Slower than even pre-F duct RB6?
