Yeah right, remember my ex paying attention whenever there was a close-up on Fisichella in the pits ten years ago...

I must be one of the lucky ones then; my girlfriend watches the F1 with me because she enjoys the racing, not the drivers.

Existing competitors including Renault, Force India and Toyota all use 'F1' in their respective names, but it is believed FOM accepts these descriptors because they precede the word 'Team'.
f1-live.com

Why not simply change it to USF1-team. And why didn't Bernie informed them before the team was presented in the first place? #-o

Because Bernie is an A-hole.

hahahaha. yes, she's single.
But she's not interested in F1 at all; I guess she likes bio-engineering, whereas I'm more into common engineering practices.
Well, I was at my parents place, and decided to visit the USF1 website. She saw the logo walking by and, to quote her, "I'm surprised you're into human genes." I was taken aback wondering what the hell she was talking about. Then she explained USF1 is a gene. Great, who knew.

They have probably registered as a corporation: US grand prix engineering perhaps?

My guess is that MrE made the same conclusion as so many others after that "presentation" on Speed TV, that this was just a publicity stunt, why he wanted nothing of it.

But he also made FIF1 change their logo from what suspiciously looked like 'F1' to what clearly is 'Fi'.

The 'Bernie is an A-hole' answer still looks the correct one :)

I am pretty sure Windsor & Anderson arent doing this as a publicity stunt - theres nothing to be gained really - Windsor was team mgr for Williams for a few years so knows the ins and outs of whats required to run a team and has a high profile in both press & TV journalism - Anderson is also a well experienced engineer in F1 and CART. I would think Speed TV are behind the reality TV side of things and a program like that where we see a F1 racing team evolve would do well in most markets around the globe (on cable) especially if there are spin offs into other areas like travel and celebrity chef style programs - in fact reality programs that work in multiple territories are worth tens of millions in revenue a year. From what I can gather they were forced into announcing early the project - and as they say it wasnt a launch it was a interview on whats happening. I will ask my Australian commentary buddy @ Speed whats the SP on all this - Id actually be interested in the DVD rights of a story like this........................will let you know what he says if he can say anything at all at this stage - we shall see.

For jddh1:
Perhaps you can impress your sis that we in Sweden have a political party, however miniscule, called "FI"?
Short for "Feministic Initiative" and actually supported by none less than Jane Fonda whan she was visiting during the election campaign in 2006.

All my sister cares about is genes (on various mammals), chopping off half of a rats head and look at it's brain as the rat is alive, stick a bunch of electrodes in there, get them extremely high on some weird drugs and write down how long they survived. Oh, and hanging out with "medical" weirdos, who are worse than any kind of weirdos, including my kind, the engineering ones.
So I don't think she'd care WTF Jane Fonda does in Sweden. (I am 100% confident that my sister would kick Jane Fonda's behind in a MMA fight, and that's taking Jane Fonda when she was in the best shape of her life. She would also win in a fight against the leader of that FI party, which to me sounds like it's just a bunch of commie Swedish women.) With that said, I'll show a photo of Mr Bernie to her, just to get her impression of him. I'll keep you posted...

Right, now get the load of this mod. When I see a Formula 1 car on the grid, which is designed and built in Charlotte or anywhere near, I will eat a...hmm, let me think about that one for a bit.
