I think both Mercedes and Ferrari will be fine.

This Ferrari vs Alfa comparison the announcers are hyping up is funny. :)
The worst part of all of this is all the speculation / hype / rumors we’ll have to be subjected to for the next two weeks.

They’re all as bad as tabloid magazines, but drama sells! Could you imagine if Alonso lead the charts in one if these testing days?

"I have an idea!" :D

I do hope Alpine change their team uniforms.# They look very unprofessional compared to the smart green uniforms & green shoes of Aston Martin -- Aston Martin looks as polished as Ferrari's famous red uniforms^, despite being a newly rebadged team.

# (Sure, Renault have traditionally had different Friday uniforms, may be what they are wearing.)
^ (Sure they had black trousers and yellow Agip shirts in the 80's, with blue mechanics overalls with Agip patches.)

Merc had far less mileage to work with and we obviously don't know what type of program they're running. Very premature statement to make at this point

That's a huge gap if Mercedes are running more fuel which they traditionally do so its looking much better for Mercedes than yesterday.

Thoughts: for now the Mercedes W12 looks very far from being a sorted car, entry/exit snap oversteer is never a welcome handling trait, although high minimum corner & low straight line speeds are encouraging signs...

Aston Martin and Ferrari look absolutely unimpressive to me, former is all over the place on track and looks the weakest of all midfield cars in terms of minimum speeds, Ferrari is stable but somehow sluggish at the same time...

I think Giovinazzi drove 3x4 hours and Kimi only 1x4 hours. So Gasly is on top.

Here is the timing data from today's test as requested.
I reformatted the timestamps slightly so that the whole thing is a bit more readable.
