Do we have any update on whether the car is still overly wind-sensitive? I recall the MCL35 suffering from this problem often last year, especially in Spain.

Considering the forecast for this weekend indicates gusty winds, I wonder if McLaren are a tad worried.

We didnt hear any complaints regarding wind sensitivity during the windy / sandy part of the recent test. So hopefully all is well.

Just out of interest guys, what are the sorts of things we ought to be looking for in FP1 compared to FP2? With the conditions so different in the heat versus under the lights, is it almost worth ignoring times in FP1 or is there more to be gleaned underneath the surface?

I say that as a complete novice (technically at least) so forgive me if it seems a daft question.

I wouldn’t go getting too excited about today, all it’s really going to do is pose more questions than answers

I would say the key thing to look out for is still reliability and any feedback on the way cars are looking through the corners, we should get a few dummy quail runs towards the end of P2 that will separate the good from the bad but they still won’t be very representative

Only during qualifying tomorrow will we start to get any real answers to this year’s competitive order, but it’s really going to be the middle of April before we get a true picture start to build

Very well put. Today, FP1 at the very least, could end up being an extended pre season test. Maybe a bit more representative running in FP2 for long runs analysis? Whatever the case is, no more hiding from tomorrow.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Yea I was going to say the long runs in FP2 will start to clear the picture but with the inevitable set up changes from Friday to Saturday from each team will muddy the waters again

Danny P3, but was definitely held up through the middle sector. Encouraging start.

Yep, was 0.6secs down at sector 2, clawed a tenth back by the end of the lap.

Positive session overall, I feel. Norris P3 and DR could have been quicker if not for traffic.
First blood to Lando then!
