The package on the car is the Melbourne aero so it looks like we won't be getting a new magical diffuser/ rear wing in the near future.
dunno about that, this is the intresting quote for me!
"We ran the 2008 rear wing because it was more relevant in its performance to the wing that we are going to have in Australia,"

do you really think if they pick up points in the first few races sponsors won't be scrambling to have their name on the car?
Which sponsors? Companies are ducking out of sponsorship in all sports due to the current economic climate.

Maybe this is more appropriate

"We ran the 2008 rear wing because it was more relevant in its performance to the wing that we hoped to have in Australia"

The distinction in this case being:

Hoped =/= have

'Ole Ham-bone is the only one to crash in pre-season testing, isn't he? Now twice at that... :wtf:
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

Don't you find strange that it is only Macca that is so sensitive fir the wind? I'd say they have severe problem with aero stability...
Well, let's wait for Melbourne anyway.

Q. But will you need sponsors for during the season?

RB: I don't want to comment on the commercial situation for the team, but we are comfortable for the season and it is the longer term we need to look for.

This from the ITVF1 website..

"Itv.com/f1 sources indicate that the team is struggling with an aerodynamic problem on the MP4-24, most likely the rear wing stalling, having alternated between 2008 and 2009-spec rear wings at Jerez last week and redesigned the car’s floor."

Quite unlikely...

considering they all stall to one degree or another.

Their problems are a lot more fundamental than a moving separation point.

Who else is testing next week other than McLaren? STR or BGP?

I believe they just have a very poor weight distribution and are clamouring to get as much downforce at the rear as possible to counter-act it...and it seems they haven't been able to do so yet.

Can anyone give me a bit more technical information on this? What is it for a wing to 'stall'? :?:
