It should be easy to check and would avoid cuspide shape.
If a 1mm round is applied to trailing edge which tapers to a point, then you lose control of where the trailing edge is. This is especially true with a 3d wing where the round will eat up more or less of the wing depending on how small the angle is between the pressure and suction surface. A round could be applied to the 1mm/2mm thick trailing edge after it has been defined, but I don't think this is done, the aero gains would be minimal and it would cause manufacturing headaches.

Hi this is the preview of the new wheels.

The volume of the wheel intersects the ground (only 1mm) in order to avoid small (unwanted) channels.
The deformation is more or less realistic (I used the average downforce of my car, that is less then the three top teams but more than any other car).
The rimms are quite simple but enough for the realism of the simulations.

I have these questions:

1) Which could be a good guess for the brakes diameter?

2) Should the brake ducts/inlets remain the same as 2021?

3) Suspensions points of connection to the car will change, but I am not sure about what to expect from the rules (may I will provide a different "setup" if LDVH needs it)

4) I can model that small wings above the front wheels, does someone has some documentation about them?

5) I can add rims covers, also in this case documentaion would be useful

6) I propose "fatter" and neutral section for the suspensions arms, in order to have the best possibile integration with different cars design of the front wing.

11.3 Brake discs and pads
11.3.1 No more than one brake disc is permitted on each wheel which must have the same rotational velocity as the wheel it is connected to.
11.3.2 All discs must have a maximum thickness of 32mm
11.3.3 The diameters of the discs are between 325mm and 330mm for the front and between 275mm and 280mm for the rear.

For points 4) and 5) there's no available documentation, at least for public. I would suggest to rely on what was presented on FIA official concept in Austin with certain approximations which is heavily outdated, but better than nothing.

The covers will be added today (taking inspiration from some LMP1 stuff, we don't need to exactly copy F1), the small wings will be added too but I was wondering which is their function. Do they have the function of limiting the turbulence behind the wheels?

Yes. Basically they increase pressure around the crown of the tyre and create downwash to delay the separation point and pull the separated flow down faster.

I suggested to Andre that we add some reg boxes around the wheels so we can design these parts ourselves. Not sure if that's a consensus view :lol: :lol:

Can't remember where I found it but this shows the wheel cover shape, you can estimate diameter from that.

This is the latest update: the red transparent volume is an optional part I would suggest to include into the CFD simulation. Considering that we are not simulating the brakes duct, it would allow to save memory and computational resources by reducing the cells number.

My PC is able to run only one fast simulation per day.. So I run 6 simulations per week, and the I use the weekend to model new stuff for the incoming week.. But that has not been enough to win...
