HI,

try to see, if we can resurrect this game.

Where, when and what is special about the car?

I think it is the 1996 Forti F01 before they introduced the F03. I guess what is special about it is that it ever managed to qualify. Luca Badoer is the driver.

No idea where, I see trees ... San Marino?
I think that was the last gear-lever shifting F1 car.
Both answers combined are correct.

So I give it to whoever is first to post a new one.

I think, there are a more unique things about 1976.

One that comes to mind is, that Shadow drove with a differnet national license than in 1975, so the first constructor to change citizenship.

It was the only F1 season held in 1976? #-o

(Facetious..)

It's a good one...hmm..the lack of UK TV Coverage due to dubious sponsons?

This is not what I'm thinking of. Was it because of the Hesketh Penthouse sponsorship?

This is not what I'm thinking of either.

The answer I seek is a thing has never happened in any other season and is not likely to happen again for a few more years at least. Whereas I'm quite sure teams have changed nationality since.

Shadow was the first, not the only one.

But anyways:

- only win of six wheeled car
- only win of an American constructor besides the Indy 500

These are not what I'm thinking. Although, 1976 is turning out to have a few unique points I never thought of.
I think your second answer isn't true: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Mk1

This is a tough one,,,

My bit was about Durex sponsorship for Surtees - the BBC didn't fancy it!

Is it the lowest points needed to win it? (not checked, but thinking of the DQs and DNS for the two main protagonists?

That's not it. You only have to go back to the previous season for one that was won with less points. Actually, 1976 was the second highest scoring season in the championship so far (1971 being the highest).

I think I could sit here and list a thousand things unique about the 1976 season! So this could take quite some time unless you give us a hint. I mean....
1976 was the only season that a man born on 29 August 1947 won an F1 world championship!
1976 was the only season that and Englishman won the title and an Austrian man finished runner up
and so on and so on....

OK, a hint.

The unique thing happened on only one event of the year.

Was it, that the fastest race lap of the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix was confirmed a few days after the race.
