When I think start of week race pace was good. but Ham's car has a big acceleration advantage over the Grid, even over bottas or norris (at imola) which uses same engine.
It was good to be stil competitve but I didn't like Alpha Tauri's performance.

It is track related, they said it before the race. Max also said the updates didn't work very well because the slippery track. In Barcelona they will be better working. In 3 races 8 points behind a 7 times WC is not bad at all!

Calling him a 7 time WDC almost undersells him. I don't give RB a hope of winning this thing if they don't have the quicker car on average through the year. We know Hamilton loves to play hunter like today and on the straights it's no contest. Max will need races where either something happens to Hamilton or (Max) has the pace to pull away, which is hard for me to envision. Hopefully he bounces back next week though I expect Mercedes to be favorites there as well

Mercs in the slip stream was once again very fast just like the last race. Nobody has a chance of overtaking them on the straights. Annoyed by the lack of constancy on track limits. Seems RBR keeps on getting the short end

There’s a lot of overreaction on this thread. There’s bound to be ebs and flows in a title fight with car performance. Today Mercedes was a bit faster but the difference in performance wasn’t that large.

Now if we go to Barcelona and Mercedes are clearly faster, then it’s time to panic.

why not alonso? man has still got it. he can also double up as team principal which can give horner an opportunity to take care of other aspects and engine division.

Ferrari was faster than Mercedes around Barcelona in 2017, only lost the win because they were sleeping under VSC which cost Vettel his 8 second lead.

They've not tested in Barcelona this year. Curious to see how the Pirellis handle there. And also a new T10 (like the original layout, now only need to drop that ugly final chicane) Also it will be windy and 50% chance of raining at sunday...

Barca used to be a RedBull somping grounds before the hybrid era. Thanks to an improved engine this year the RB-16 has looked like RB of old so it just might be RedBulls track this year. Im excited to know.
