Helmut Marko to RTL: "Where we still lag a bit behind Mercedes is on the engine side, not on the combustion engine but in the overall package. When Mercedes charges their battery and then releases all the power, they seem to have more horsepower than we do."
With only one engine mode permitted for all competitive sessions of a race weekend, how can they have a peak horsepower deficit without their ICE being down on power?... Is there any loophole in the PU mode regulations? If the goal was to confine the operation of all ICE power-related moving parts, then one would think the policing of that would be extremely straightforward (if the power output on the crankshaft on full throttle at a certain engine speed varies by more than 120kW, then something fishy is going on)...
Perhaps he means on average, which would imply more recovery from the ERS, but that wouldn't account for the second bit of the statement. Another explanation would be that Merc gains more power than Honda when they open the wastegate on corner exit. That still varies with the ERS management mode today, but has an effect on the performance of the ICE, too.

This does not sound good: https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/83320/ve ... ckage.html

Again correlation issues?
Can't have that against Mercedes.

Couple with the lack of straightline speed this weekend and the W12 clearly being more consistently able to perform the fastest laps, I am sure it is code red now at RBR.
Doesn't seem like correlation issues. More like freak track conditions at Portimao etc.

Wait. What car is this? RedBull has a big, shiny aluminum bend at the top of the rear uprights. I dont see that here...

Are you sure this is the RB16B?

Yes, look at the sponsors on the garage wall.

Ah. And the shirt.

I found the aluminum part (or titanium probably). Its a bit darker than before so it blends in, but its there.

Do we know what the carbon piece is in the keel? It seems to have a connector.

Thought maybe fire Extinguisher but wasn't sure if that can be placed outside the tub.

It's the AOT (Auxiliary Oil Tank), AT have it in the same place.
Thanks! Innovative packaging to keep the power unit tight.

Interesting how they compensate on the new 2021 lower inner wheel brake duct turning vane width regulations reducing it from 80mm to 40mm with those outer wishbone aero angle, aston martin racing should take note. the aero under the crash structure too now even more centralized
