The last loop of this iteration, that is, not the last loop ever. There will still be 2 more new engines introduced penalty free this year. Honda plan to stick to that. They could have small reliability upgrades. Honda is still actively working on that. Per 2022 the engines are frozen. No falling back. No reliability updates. No nothing. Same engine starting day 1.

Not sure if this should go to the race thread but its related to red bull modes and communications between Checo and his engineer. Azerbaijan was a great race and was a very enjoyable one to watch on board various drivers. I was curious to see how Checo's race unfolded(especially with Horner's comments around how he went long on his pit marks which prevented him from jumping Max, and also the hydraulic issue).

F1TV with this on board footage and team radio is gold, I've tried to make sense of each steering mode/instruction given to Perez and under what circumstance, along with any noticeable result until Lap 42. Instructions slowed down later, but he was told various times to stop weaving which has been mentioned above. Instructions after lap 42 regarding any steering wheel mode adjustments were scarce so I didnt bother to note them here.

Edit: His pit stop seemed okay. Interesting to hear Horner's comments, they dont make sense. Must have been another reason why it was a slow stop (not trying to start any conspiracy theories)

Is there a chance Honda could still be a sponsor of Red Bull in 2022? :?:

As everyone know these merc guys likes to lie. I don't believe their words which tell us that ham accidentally pushed the button they arrogantly named as magic button . I think they do that intentionally to get brake heat because there was only chance for them to win that was start. Start as fast as you can and brake as late as you can. They put all their hand at start and it didn't worked. They had more than 40 laps of experience, well taught them that they can not overtake perez if he lead after first turn.

I think it is very obvious where they lied at my comment if you didn't hurry to defend ham before seeing what I said.

I am not rushing in to defend Hamilton, I am just trying to understand what you mean - because that isn't obvious to me.

I wasn't aware that they have such equipment (i guess it's ECT?) at the track, especially since (slightly off topic) Ferrari claimed they couldn't have found the issue on Leclerc's car because they lacked the necessary tools to find cracks in metal parts (?)
[edit: correction - an AMuS article implied that since the issue was only found when the part arrived back at the factory, but after reading the article again two times it seems that it was unrelated to not having such equipment at the track but was probably just down to not having enough time to check every component]

Most probably this is ultrasonic testing, very standard equipment nowadays.
But if they test it regularly they may be know these are prone to failure.
