Love to see it!

It doesn't count till it counts. Could just be a glorie run for the French fans.

In 2019 almost everyone was in the 1:31s-1:32 in FP2. This year The top 14 are mainly 1:33 with acouple of 1:32.8s.
Merc pushed low 1:28s in Quali in 2019. Could we be that far of the 2019 pace ?
Possibly.. I’ve seen on AMUS Alpine think we are not as fast as Ferrari and because we installed our new engine and some other teams were still using old engines from Baku that will bring them 1.5 tenths closer today which would mean maybe one of our cars might make it into Q3. But yes let’s see today Friday was good but they need to take another step to stay where they were. Fingers crossed and all! :)
Looks like Alpine is going backward as you said.

What's interesting is that they're all overheating their tires by the final set of corners. So RBR have decreased DF on the rear wing and have found a bunch of time by increasing straight line speed and giving-up some corner time in the early corners. They're actually faster in the later corners as they have more tire left. Wonder if it is too late for Alpine to do the same?

Wonder what effects that's gonna have on tire usage in the race ?

I would just ignore him whenever he tries to do obvious troll drive by posts. Happy for Alonso, but P11 for Ocon is really not that bad considering strategy. Starting with the hardest compound could be a good choice, they seem to be overall doing better in the long run compared to the softer tyre.

Also I hope Ocon is not the type of driver that when signs a long contract starts to fade out. I was expecting a bit more today after Q1 but let's see how the race goes at it seems Alpine on they yellow marks are quiet strong

P9 and P11. Not too bad, but after Friday it was a tempting thought that there might be more in the car.

I give it a 80% chance that there aren't much more in updates for the rest of the year.

Alonso will get quicker so that’s good! He isn’t fully updated :)

Yeah that’s true Friday was good but we know now that others were running with old engines so we didn’t take a step back but we also didn’t take a step forward but it’s only qualifying… It’s a balancing act so if the race pace is good we will know it worked. Alonso qualifying on the mediums gives us options if the heavens don’t open. If that happens let’s hope we stay in the mix

It depends on what the weather brings but if it’s dry then I expect status quo but I think I want weather. Ver will be fine but I want to see if alpine has pace now in rain.

Is it just me or does the Alpine F3 livery look better than the Alpine F1 livery? It's much less fussy with the single, brighter, shade of blue, and simple black wings.
