An incredible day for Honda today. They got a win in F1 and MotoGP both. Both wins by two exceptional sportspersons. =D>

The Hards were not that good. Look @ how good Perez or Norris were on the Mediums. The teams under-estimated the Mediums & over-estimated the Hards. Norris went 29 laps & Perez went 27 laps & Verstappen was only gaining seriously (Like 1s odd) on Perez in the last 2-3 days. That with a greener track & more fuel. The Mediums were perfectly okay for 25 laps in the beginning. Max did 24 laps in his last stint & could have done a few more it seems. This doesn't include gains from under-cut !

Ultimately it looks like on race pace, on most tracks, Mercedes & RB will have a 1 or 2 tenths gap at best. Conditions & tyre choice would vary.

Well done Max. Incredible drive. And good job Perez once again on tyre management. If Perez can sort out his qualifying issues, RB have a good chance this year ! Imagine Perez holding off Hamilton in quite a few races.

Strategy heroics were fantastic but you can't count on those every race. The Mercedes still has the race pace edge and it will be difficult to win races like this. Checo needs to be helping lock out the front row to help Max

Marvellous race by both RB drivers. At one moment I even thought Max wouldnt make it and was surprised he switched to medium after a 13 laps stint on hards. Did they watch closely how bad the hards were in the midfield. Alonso mentioned this early in the race.

Anyhow, anything better than a 1-2 by Merc would be good, and look how it went. With race pace being so close, being agile during the race, team operation will be key for the win.

Looking at the rb rw i can understand merc is lacking on the straight, incredible how good this car is, much skinnier rw compared to mercs barndoor and theyre still able to match merch in the twisty stuff, with this advantage i think they can even add a bit more df for better race pace if necessary, its all compromise

I think that was the lesson from today. A tad more wing is needed. They will surely be investigating what they can do, how to improve there without too much drag.

Very pleased with the result today, but think the W12 was the faster car today. Only Max's driving and the good team effort with strategy got them the win. So with regards to a potential sustained world championship fight: still work to do for RB.

They are. And the whole team looks so alive. But we need a little next step (imho) to get to equal footing. But they are doing great. I am enjoying this incredibly.

The top speed difference was striking, much bigger than on Saturday without the slipstream. Verstappen managed 337.0 km / h before the braking point to the chicane, at Perez it was 336.4 km / h.
In contrast, the Silver Arrows were snails. They too had DRS and slipstream at this point, but only achieved 321.2 and 320.7 km / h. That meant positions 19 and 20 in the top speed table.

It was therefore clear that a second pit stop would make little sense. "We would have fallen behind Perez with both cars and would have had to pass him first before we could attack Verstappen," said Wolff. His strategists agreed: "We only had the other option: stay outside and pray that the tires will hold up."

Indeed. One more step needed to consistently beat Mercedes on normal tracks without having to rely on better strategy or it being a 2-stopper (with a little less degradation, Mercedes would have easily gotten this)

Do we know if the new PU has a fix for the issues that emerged after first race?

From memory the talk was that the engine power output wasn’t maximised because of an issue with vibration or electrical power harvesting (I could be talking nonsense) and therefore it wasn’t running at max since that first race.

It was clear after the first stops how much faster Mercedes still is under equal race condition strategy. You nomally cant follow but HAM was within 7 tenths for 10 laps straight, only lacking a bit top speed. You cant keep relying on this strategy and 2 stop conditions. The RB16B needs to get some extra race pace, or the championships will still go to the W12
