Hey guys, I'm a Race Car Aerodynamics student at the University of Southampton and my thesis is about "2022 FIA F1 Technical Regulations changes - how they will impact aerodynamics and potential areas of optimisation". I was wondering where I can get a hold of the 2022 F1 CAD. Would really appreciate any help. Cheers!
We don’t share our cad. Our model is out of date now anyway - there have been 3 fairly big changes to the regs since we published.

Can you post a link to your CAD post? I really havent started following this thread yet and need to catch up.

Do you have a CAD of the bounding boxes?

I've been trying to work that out myself. In the associated article (in Italian) it says it was created for FOM to show what the cars will look like. But the front wheel arch winglets are wrong/different and it doesn't look like it has the rear deflectors to keep the rear tyre squirt out of the diffuser. Unless those parts were too thin?!

Well it's probably a somewhat simplified model. I'm wondering whether it's to scale? Difficult to judge from the picture.

Just imagine how good this design would look without the halo...

Somewhat simplified indeed. The body looks like the wind tunnel model they showed a couple of years ago. The floor like one of the variations they showed in CAD a little while later. Looks full scale.

On who made it:
...it is a show car created specifically for the occasion by The Memento Group, commissioned by F1, to reveal to the public an example of what the cars will look like from next year.

Just imagine how dead Grosjean would be. The halo is fine. Personally I find cars without now to seem unsafe. Like looking at cars pre '96 with no cockpit sides.

Interesting. So basically a mock-up to get people interested in the new-look cars.

I wonder why they didn't put wheels on it though?

To me it looks like it's still being prepared and these are not shots meant to be public yet.

From the front view, the front wing looks like an old fashioned strongman's moustache.

Actually the whole car looks a bit tacky from the front view. The rear wing especially. Not keen.
