So are we effectively going to be watching a spec series just with a choice of drive train allowed?
Technically no. But there’s a lot of detail which will keep cars verrry similar. Main differences will be invisible to most of us.
Hmmm, may as well make it a spec aero series then. If they all look the same except for the paintwork, it would make a lot of sense in the cost-cap era to just say "here is this year's car, bolt you drivetrain to it".
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Another issue is damage. With the current cars, the endplate can take some damage e.g the footplate being knocked off, the car is still able to continue albeit with a small loss of performance. This new front wing looks like it'll be a case of any damage will result in a pitstop after a slow drive around the remainder of the lap. Be useful if the endplate could snap off (crudely put) leaving the main plane and flaps in place and able to work (some form of separator between elements would be required, of course). At least it would allow a driver to get back to the pits without a huge loss of time.

Oh get on with it. Unveil the car already! :wtf:

Yes, we know what it's going to look like but it would be nice to see it done officially.

The 3d render is different and more "up-to-date".

Interesting that that nose is different from the physical model 😂

Wonder how long this car is, doesn't look like its a full 3600mm wheelbase as allowed.
Maybe some of the cars will be longer than this next year

Shark fins being allowed back? First thing i like!!!
It also has a much shorter nose(still too fat).

The chunky nose and endplate less wing just look wrong to my eyes.

The tyres are bigger so it makes the wheelbase look shorter because your reference is changed. Kinda like the effect which makes lmp cars look bigger than they are because of the windscreen.

She said "trust me", so I trusted her and I wasn't thrilled after all. The talk with the FIA experts was wishy washy too. Aimed at driver fans rather than technical fans, I guess.

Noticed the floor is slightly more complex in the model than in the renders

Indycar has a chunky wide nose too, but it looks better because it has a rounded top, this boxy thing is hideous.
