Whilst they do sometimes abort and dive into the pits, it’s probably smarter to take an extra lap to cool down, given parc ferme conditions apply and there’s only so much the mechanics can touch.nimoraca wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 18:04I personally had no problem with Hamilton pacing himself on the out lap and creating some distance from Bot. With both Mercedes having solid laps on the board, Red Bull was just pushing their luck waiting so long. One off track excursion by anyone would bring a yellow flag or RED! Call it a s'tragedy' error.
To play the devil's advocate a little bit, maybe he thought Lewis was going too slow and wanted to pass him, but the former wasn't letting him thru.

He could time his pit stops to cost Hamilton, but it is a precise calculation that can go wrong and lose points himself
