Max hasn't been dominant, he's only just retaken the lead in the championship. No one is dominating this season, I thought that was clear to see for everyone.
I guess we could argue that after Spain, Max has dominated all races- except the ones he was taken out by someone/thing else, not?
Dude. Leading a bunch of laps and finishing 3 seconds in front is not dominant driving. You need to watch the Schumacher and Vettel Eras to learn what dominance is. These races have been too close to invoke dominance. We know the car is fast. It leads almost 500 laps to Mercedes 100-odd laps. It could be dominant...
One can reasonable argue that it should have been dominating all the races except Portugal and Barcelona.

The reason why that hasn't been the case is obviously the silver team has a decent enough, car, decent engine, solid driver. The strategy is crap though. But also thanks to some bad-luck for Max/RedBull Mercedes is still in the game.

But domination? Nah.
The number of Wins Max has is pretty good. Domination-esque. Seven wins! He can potentially take the wins record for a season, he has the tools to do it. But Mercedes will not take it lying down.
I agree the highlighted. Drivers made a lot of difference with less than half a second faster cars (for 2 years each and on par on the other winning years). True "Driver" dominance eras. Imagine if Vettel and Schumacher in their prime driving the W05 to W11 with 2 seconds a lap quicker cars for 7 long years. Unbelievable.

I purposely left out the Hamilton era. Because it wasnt really an era.

2014, no dominance. Won in the last race.

2015 was dominant.

2016 Nico won.

2017 Ferrari was leading up to Singapore.
2018 Ferrari was leading up to mid season.

2019 and 2020.. Dominance.

So overall it's only three separate years of dominance.

Dominance of a car is when both drivers are serial winners and the only two contenders for the title. 2017 - 2018 Mercedes was the best car enough to be a difference but not dominant.

2021 RBR is a good car but Mercedes is still the best on the grid on average.

I suggest you qualify your opinion with "I think/beleive/suppose/assume/reckon/deducethe Mercedes is the best on the grid" instead of stating it as an indisputable fact.

When you state a fact, be preapred to back it up.

This was guidline on the forum not too long ago.

The Red Bull has won 8 races with Max taking 7, Sergio taking 1. The Mercedes has taken 4 wins with Lewis taking all four.

So, ummm...

Do you agree Hamilton had a dominant car for 5 seasons? 2014,2015,2016,2019 and 2020?
