I think Schumacher is a very good example how the support of a junior program benefits not just getting the right seat, but also the benefits of the right coaching, sim work, etc. We’ve seen him make several jumps in performance in his feeder series years. I don’t think he’s reached his limit yet. If he carries on like this (he seems to be a good student), I’ll see him replacing Sainz in a couple of years.

People have hype for Schumacher, but right now, I don't see Sainz out of Ferrari unless he starts to struggle, let's see, but right now he can't do more btw with Haas...

So, even is Gio isn't in the grid next year, he can't use 99 yet. Only, I think after two consecutive seasons of the number not being used again, it's "back in the pool" again.

and by the way, if this is a "hint" to gio not in F1 next year, it's quite a dick move from him. but... wouldn't be his first.

Yeah, very much so. And like you say, the number is reserved for a year or 2 so Maz wouldnt be able to use it anyway, what a fool.
Unless, he will be running the 99 somewhere else

edit: also he hasn't run the 99 any time recently as most of the junior series you don't choose your number, you use what you are given. I guess he was born in 1999 so maybe he does want it, but wont have it any time soon.

Agree- completely unprofessional and fairly cruel if this is at face value and he knows Giovanazzi doesn't have a drive for next year. Especially before any formal announcement regarding his future has been made. And also shows he doesn't even understand the number allocation rules.

FOM should just prohibit him from ever using #99 if that's what he's done.

According to this even mazepins seat might not be safe. Would be quite something if he got swapped out for Zhou.

Confirmed.

Is there any mention of the number of years anywhere? :?:

Surely it is at least a three year deal. :?:

It's got to be. Probably with the option for more. They'll want him locked up watertight, as unless he inexplicably can't handle the pressure, he's the future of that team.

With him, Verstappen and Leclerc all under 24, potentially they could all be staying exactly where they are for the next 8-10 years, unless some other wunderkind comes along. The sharp end of the grid could be incredibly stagnant.

If Albon is going to Williams with financial backing, there is no reason to keep Latifi. Better to go for someone with more upside either in the short term, or long term. I say with financial backing since there were rumours connected to the Williams seat and Albon, that the owners of Red Bull would like Albon on the grid and could provide backing for it to happend. Seems reasonable that Williams are interested, if indeed he gets to keep his Red Bull connections and thus have backing behind him.

It's much more LIKELY that Ferrari will do a swap with Schumacher and Giovanazzi,
which would mean he's hinting at #99 being his TEAMMATE.

If things go really south between Mick and Nikita, or perhaps already have, we might actually see a mid-season swap ala RedBull. Perhaps Mazespin's daddy will pay extra money cash in hand for Gio to get into the Haas seat next season.

It would also make sense to be honest - Giovanazzi doesn't have the same drive to prove himself like Schumacher imho, and potentially will be more open for moving aside for Mazepin. But far more important : I would be pretty sure that they don't want Ferrari driver and RUSSIAN Shwartzman to beat life's failure that is Mazepin.

This is imho far more likely.

BUT, if he's claiming he knows De Vries is going to replace Gio and puts it out like that, then he indeed is a even more total DCK then already believed to be.
