2017 F1 engine dream configs

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

That´s what I said at any other thread, downsizing current engines to allow higher revs, lower restrictions and a bit more engineering freedom, and some people replied there´s a minimum engine size if you want it efficient

Luckily those will reply here too to explain it in detail...

Personally I would let them run literally whatever configuration they want with a limit on electrical power and only 100KG of fuel per hour flow rate.

That way they get creative with ways of getting more energy from the same amount of fuel. That is something that would definitely benefit road cars!

A neodymium tipped turbine with plasma ignition (much like a pulse tig), coupled to four brushless wheel hub motors, allow refuelling without limits and really let electric motor technology have a shot at the bigtime rather than being relegated to closed minded options such as formula e.

You want to make the engines even quieter?

Not quieter, a shaft turbine power unit purely from power generation, axial flow, no gearbox, hub motors.
Not every team conforming, some V10's, V6TT.
The whole notion of a control formula for f1 is just as flawed as communism.
