Then, of course, there was this :

Oh my god, Hamilton is just copying Kimi! </sarcasm>
I can’t remember Prost or Schumacher pouting or sulking. If anything, I always find both to be extremely pragmatic and honest.Just_a_fan wrote: The list of guys who have pouted and sulked after bad races is long and it's full of world champions. Piquet, Senna, Prost, Mansell, Schumacher, Hill, Villeneuve, Alonso, Hamilton, Button - have all been notably grumpy after bad races. All of them, bar Mansell I think, have had someone behind them to get where they were, even if it was just a family member with some spare cash.
You are quite wrong with your first sentence there. Sure I don’t agree with drivers being backed by F1 teams from an early age as this undoubtedly overlooks any talented drivers who do not have backing. As I said, I don’t agree with this, but the thing that annoys me the most about Hamilton is that he is just so damn big headed and behaves like a petulant child whenever things do not go his way. For these reasons, I will never be a fan of his as I cannot stand people like this.Just_a_fan wrote:I know lots of people - you included I think - dislike Hamilton because he arrived on the back of McLaren support (so a double whammy in many eyes). But when he arrived he actually delivered. He went toe to toe with the defending double champion and came away with the results. Then he went and won the title in only his second season. That's not the result of rich backing, it's the result of talent honed to a fine skill by long years of practise and training. Sure, the money helps (see my second para above), but on its own it's not enough.
I don't know. It is a bit like watching a cheesy 80's film and a bit pretentious but it does make a nice change to the usual tripe.Pandamasque wrote:^Alain Prost would argue with that.
I'd be happy to listen to the spontaneous 'crap' moments, rather than the rehearsed 'we are who we are' BS.
First off, that is ridiculous to excuse someone from using profanity if English is not their first language. They know exactly what they're saying with whatever language they are using.andrew wrote:Going back to the thread topic, I think the use of profanity can be excused where English is not a persons first language, however these drivers are all meant to be adults and should know when to act with a bit of decorum.
Spot on;volarchico wrote:Freudian slip? Or are you actually serious about that part?WilliamsF1 wrote:I hope this will turn out to be a bashing thread
And honestly, crap is not a very offensive word. In this situation it was referring to what the driver considered a poor finishing position. It wasn't directed at the sport, it was directed at a person. How is this offensive to you? Would it have been better to say "seventh or eighth, it's pretty poopy"?
The same can be said about many of the posts in this thread, but somehow I doubt you'll take the hintandrew wrote: pretentious ........... usual tripe.
I consider it very back etiquette to advertise crash.net.FirstandLast wrote:Quote: WilliamsF1 "I hope this will turn out to be a bashing thread"![]()
