Looks like rear left suspension failure....

Hopefully for his sake, he didn't do any gear box damage with the forces through the axle.KBM Racing wrote:oh well, should have the car back together for Q1
They're really not. Yellow ones yes, but these red kerbs were there from 2014 and this is the first time this has happened.KBM Racing wrote:Replay on Rosberg, looks as tho the curb vibration snapped the rear suspension ...... those curbs are brutal!!! oh well, should have the car back together for Q1
He actually went nose first into the wall so maybe not...ds.raikkonen wrote:He was a passenger, looks like he'll have to do a Perez. Was that element to adjust toe settings?
That element's vibration was increasing a little bit just prior to the buckle. There didn't appear to be any excessive load at that time, although obviously we don't know what the actual load was there. Could it be an older element close to its life limit or some manufacturing fault?GPR-A wrote:Oh.... Nico had a bad spin and a major damage to car !!!![]()

Called it!turbof1 wrote:Grid penalty for Rosberg due gearbox change. The element that snapped experienced unusual loading according to Mercedes.
High cyclical stress and resonance frequency caused it to buckle probably. I think the resonance frequency could have played the biggest role though.3jawchuck wrote:That element's vibration was increasing a little bit just prior to the buckle.
