F1 tyre supplier Pirelli have completed their investigation into the reason of the tyre failure that caused a DNF for Sebastian Vettel at the most recent Austrian Grand Prix. The blown tyre forced the German to retire from the race while leading it.

That element's vibration was increasing a little bit just prior to the buckle. There didn't appear to be any excessive load at that time, although obviously we don't know what the actual load was there. High cyclical stress and resonance frequency caused it to buckle probably.
