Sorry, I'm just SUPER excited. Just like some of the kids going round the track, it would seem. :P

So far...

Alonso 1:11.599
Massa 1:11.722
Kobayashi 1:12.056
de la Rosa 1:12.094
Hamilton 1:12.256
Schumacher 1:12.450

Considering that Sauber and McLaren are using those new HDD (Huge Deck Diffuser), their times don't look that great.

Just my modest opinion

He looks like Fred Flintstone

Plus it's a name that I think David Hobbs hung on him!
(Although Frederick in Spanish is Federico)

BTW: Ferrari reports there's a 4km line of cars to get into the circuit. Over 30,000 people at the track

there doing different programs. If it was about the best time, they wouldn't have test drivers.

is that based on best time of the test? because this is the line up for today

McLaren Jenson Button

Mercedes Michael Schumacher

Ferrari Fernando Alonso

Sauber Pedro de la Rosa

Williams Nico Hülkenberg

Renault Vitaly Petrov

Toro Rosso Jaime Alguersuari

Lewis Hamilton's fastest lap - 1:12.256 - was set on the fourth lap of a 20-lap run.

Lets not forget that there can be vast differences to the basic fuel levels the teams take on track but the above data stipulate that:

Renault could be in trouble
McLaren play it very conservative considering they have the most advanced diffusor on show
Sauber may be show boating a bit but they look in better shape than Renault. Kobayashi could be smart money with the bookies if one is quick.

Alonso goes even quicker, posting a 1:11.470. He is over half a second ahead of his closest rival now.

Fred may have brought his six tenths with him!

Circuit status: Air temperature: 13 ° C
Track temperature: 30 ° C
Test times Updated: 13:48
driver team Drive time difference #
1. F. Alonso Ferrari F10 1:11.470 61 pit
2. P. de la Rosa Sauber C29 1:12.094 +0,624 28 pit
3. M. Schumacher Mercedes GP W01 1:12.438 +0,968 40 pit
4. J. Alguersuari Toro Rosso STR5 1:12.576 +1,106 37 pit
5. J. Button McLaren MP4-25 1:12.951 +1,481 33 pit
6. N. Hülkenberg Williams FW32 1:13.669 +2,199 72 pit
7. V. Petrov Renault R30 1:14.009 +2,539 29 pit

lunch time is over and Michael Schumacher is back in the seat at optimum track temperature of 30°C. He should be posting some better times this afternoon. He is already half a second quicker than Nico yesterday. So perhaps Shovlin was quicker with the bolster seat than Clear.
