Massa ends first test on top
Felipe Massa has ended the first test day of the season on top after completing a lap in the Ferrari F10 in 1m12.650. At this first test, 7 teams came in action with their new cars. The test will continue tomorrow and on Wednesday.
Massa was given the opportunity to start testing the F10 and will also run it tomorrow. It will only be on Wednesday when Fernando Alonso will come in action. The Brazilian driver worked mainly on defining a baseline set-up for the new car and on analysing the behaviour of the new Bridgestone tyres.
Laptimes tumbled towards the end of the day, with Massa and Schumacher improving their times continuously until the session was red flagged as Barrichello stopped on track.
Sebastian Buemi didn't have the best of days as he stayed in the garage for most of the day as the new STR5 suffered a gearbox problem during most of the afternoon.
