The McLaren's have some solid pace, what a curveball that has thrown into the mix!

From what I could gather only Lewis and Vettel did their times on the hard tyres of the top 7 drivers. The rest needed to put on the softs to reach those times.

And Petrov really did well, quite impressive.

16 cars separated by 1.5 seconds.

Petrov is flying this weekend!

Btw, did Vettel and Webber do their laps on the option or prime tyre?

Hard tyres as did Hamilton.

Vettel going out now on soft tyres. Should be interesting to see the pace he can put out!

Can/do fuel loads vary in Q1 and 2 or are they low fuel runs all around?

Tumarello, thanks for the correction.

I wonder if the Ferrari is struggling for tyre temps. I wonder if they've concentrated the car design on keeping the tyres in good condition and are struggling in qualifying because of it. The car is a handful for both drivers.

They should be low fuel, one lap runs. Not much benefit in running more fuel than that unless they're planning to do 2-3 lap runs on the soft tyres. They have been having some trouble getting to temperature it seems (especially Ferrari).

Button was on the prime as well. I think all the others were on the soft.

A very basic mistake from Rubens. Unexpected!

Button 1:24.9 on the softs. Vettel on the softs right now already half a second better

VERY surprising to say the least. That onboard of Massa showed him inputting a large amount of turn into that steering wheel. We have yet to see Lewis do a time on the soft tyres... and as I say that he leaves the pits haha.

So looks like Red Bull have half a second over McLaren who have another 0.6 seconds over Ferrari and the rest of the pack.
