29 laps is nothing omg. His pace was better than everyone else apart from mercs, red bulls and kimi. Hamilton did only a few less on ultra soft. This is purely pireshit's own fault.
There is a reason Hamilton (and everybody else) did a few less laps. Else the tire would explode. It isn't the first time Ferrari tried to stretch tire life beyond its limits.
But the tyre should fall off the cliff, not explode.

Trying to think about it, could the curbs be at fault for this?

Hahaha so tires should just explode without explanation when they're supposedly finished? Sure. There should be a performance drop off, of which there was almost none. There was actually no reason for vettel to pit on performance reason. 30 laps in not all that many around this track.

No, they did not pit so that they won't explode, they pitted for performance reasons. Race tires should not suddenly explode like that...

Rosberg is faster even with quite a bit older tires.

Think rosberg has this if the tires last. Dont think they will pit him again.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Nico has this in the bag, not sure why they let Nico get ahead in the opening stint, you could see the gap getting smaller a smaller each lap. That's racing though.
