So I conclude that R31 is quickest in Melbourne than the F150th, at least in quali...
Maybe the very fact that Robert is NOT driving affected that?netoperek wrote:I'm wondering why bookies gave Renault such bad odds. If Petrov can qualify 6, imagine what would Robert do with that car today - P4 probably?
While I personally don't see Petrov near Kubica, we have to acknowledge that he was a rookie. With much less testing than rookies in previous years had. This year, had we seen Petrov & Kubica, we would've seen a much fairer play.netoperek wrote:Petrov probably is quick - now that some pressure is off, he's probably quicker then ever. But he's not as quick as Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Kubica or Rosberg. I'm merely wondering how fast would R31 be in hands of any of them. Oh, and BTW, Ringo please remember the circumstances when Petrov beat Kubica. You make it sound as Petrov was anywhere near RK pace when Robert had his day (and no mechanical problems). And that IMHO is not true.

Vettel and Red Bull are the red hot favourites for both championships.
Heidfeld and Barrichello disappointed. Both were beaten by their younger and less experienced teammates, although Barrichello spun out so it's not normal.
Either way though, the Renault was touted as a top car but has lacked the speed all weekend.
Last year Jenson outqualified Lewis in Melbourne. Lewis unceremoniously got the honor of first big shot name to go out before Q3ell66 wrote:so same as last year, lewis beat jenson by a good 4 tenths with the latter complaining about balance issues
