People seriously need to keep up with the times....

;)

(it´s still just two regular corners connected but for the better of humanity it´s a chicesse :))

The one at the Fagnes chicane, right?
No, the Fanges Chicesse of course, god... some people o.O can't even tell the difference between a chicaine, an S and a chicesse.
Can we get a soundcloud upload for the correct "pronunciation" for this new "term / word" I have a suspicion Sky F1 would be wise to use this new jargon ;)
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Haha, if the term gets used on the track walk I'll wet myself laughing. "Unfortunately" I won't be watching Sky this weekend, so I'm gonna rely on you lot to have already laughed at it when I get back.

Mark Webber in the simulator commentating on Spa (this video is from 2010 but I feel is still relevant in terms of track layout / demand):

So basicilly in that simulator they slown a bit down before going up eau rouge; in real life they just take it flat out. Dunno if the top speed for Red Bull is that slow or it's just simulator speed, but 310 km/h max is a bit on the down side.

Very strange for Ferrari to talk abouit Spa, but showing their car run on a different track :wtf: .

Also remember that speedtraps are unreliable in Spa - the trap is located on the exit of Raidillon

Always felt the speed trap was placed weird at SPA.

I think the hard tire will be almost useless in this race, I think it will be a two stopper, using two sets of mediums for as long as possible, then finishing on hards with like 9-10 laps to go. This the longest lap of the year so if they get the strategy right only lapped traffic will be an issue, and not being stuck behind a slower car like last race.

I don't agree with you, some teams(lotus, ferrari, force india) may go for one-stopper if they set up the car right for the temperatures, as these teams are known for being soft on the tires, and with the 2012 construction, they may need more downforce to heat up the tires.

I predict 2 stops for Merc and Redbull and Ham/Ham for the weekend if last year's start apocalypse by Grosjean won't happen :D

Last year curiously Button and Vettel comfortably one-stopped while the 2-stoppers did OPP rather than OOP

I agree. Brawn seems to think their low downforce package is good, so I expect Mercedes to be in the front. Button may put in a good showing. Kimi will wind up in the hunt, and so will Vettel.

Congratulation on teaching your fellow men on proper formula 1 jargon. Another giant leap for humanity. Now if you would mind spelling "Fagnes" correctly please... :P.

Going back to the weather situation, Friday looks dry with little cloud cover, Saturday, again, dry, but with a few more clouds, which will reduce temperature by a few degrees, and by my reckoning Mercedes's this could favour Mercedes. However, Sunday appears to be a more complicated affair, with light to moderate showers scattered throughout the day, mixed in with periods of strong sunshine, creating the potential for a race not dissimilar to the races back in 2010 and 2008. But, as we all know very well, the weather in the Ardennes is hugely unpredictable, mixing the already hard-to-predict North West European weather with even more localised weather patterns, this could change right up until the morning of the race (and even beyonf that!). The Belgian Grand Prix is my favourite of the year, so I hope for a great race, and I hope all of you fellow petrolheads enjoy this wonderful weekend :D Oh, but there is a downside (at least for me  ) as the BTCC round at Knockhill clashes exactly with the race!
