Certainly looks like one, but the cars running didn't have a stepped nose , it would require a change in tub hmmm

i don't think that they bring a stepped nose. The stepped nose is made to build a higher chassis, but McLaren is running the old chassis and i think it is not enough time to change the chassis.

Hmm and no one within the team mentioned a new tub, crashtesting of new parts, a delay of the parts or whatsoever. Keep hoping guys!

Looks like it is a stepped nose I'm watching practise 2 and the cars running did not have that nose on.

Looking at it carefully it could just be a reflection that, in fact I'm almost 100% certain it is as you can see the workshop lights further down.

Didn't notice many updates today, although obviously it was wet. Neale said they may not run them if they can't confirm sim data on them via track. Which sucks because I was interested in seeing what MaCa have under their sleeves. Maybe tomorrow but I doubt it. Guess we'll have to wait until Germany.

Interesting that they seem to have molded in a cover for the brake duct as opposed to making the duct with a smaller opening... probably somewhat of a middle ground with shorter lead time. Wet or dry, silverstone is not very hard on brakes and theres lots of high speed sections to cool them, so it makes sense. Still, they don't have the option of tearing it out during a pit stop if they find they need more cooling.

Why would they show the nose when they have no intention of using it? I thought team's guarded till the last second revealing ANY major upgrades - like a brand new radical wing design for example....
