Why does that seem to suit RB? Is it because all teams have to run more drag, so the disadvantage of RB's short gearing is lessened? Thanks
The Red Bull, as you may know, has one of the highest downforce cars on the grid, and the necessity for a high downforce car is even further exaggerated in wet/damp conditions even more so than usual, which suits Red Bull. As you said, the low top speed issue for Red Bull's typically short gear ratios is in contrast less exaggerated because of the other teams' need to run a higher downforce set up. This will help them to execute their Plan A of get pole position, use the superior downforce/general speed to blast away out of reach of the others, and win the race. This has been less evident last season and this season so far, due to more competition from rival teams, but an example is in India last year when Vettel, despite the huge back straight, dominated the race, and Webber wouldn't have been far behind him if he hadn't had yet another KERS failure. Anyway, I hope this helps

Also, may I ask as, a general question to everybody, what their preference is on the weekend's weather? I would like a wet practice, showery qualifying and showery race ideally, any other thoughts?
