A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.
is he not looking at the car we've seen pictures of?
Jet fighter like side pods, lol
"They aren't on the car at the minute," Ted reported. "We are expecting to see new sidepods. Something more akin to a jetfighter, with perhaps channels down the side to funnel the air down the bottom of the car to the diffuser.
Just a usual journalistic bable. He is paid to report stuff, and when he sees nothing he makes something out of thin air.

sounds like he has been reading the speculation on this thread
I have to admit I like Ted but he sometimes just plain lies, it's more noticeable now he's on Sky cuz they cut the live feed with their own feed an you can see what ted 'can see' and it's just plain bull

Cjc as you said you've been watching F1 for 10 years you should know better its pirelli F1 we have seen tires can make you go from mid - field to being the fastest car on the track if you manage to get them to work optimally, that is what is happening with maclaren, they had the fastest car on track now they are in the mid field just because the car is eating up the tires thats why they are going back wards lets hope this upgrade will solve the issues.
YES!
I have said that its not F1 its Formula Pirelli and I hate it, I havvent expressed those opinions in this thread as its a thread about the car.
The current rubber is rubbish tho - to quote Schumacher 'a tyre war would be good for F1 - we would have decent tyres!'
Pathetic excuses. The order has more or less settled out, and the tires are more or less handled correctly. Its just like last year, everybody got the tires figured out by halfway. The only fluctuations in pace we're seeing now, is when a team brings successful updates or when a track suits a car particularly well. The Williams won a race on merit because its a very good car and,at that time, the RB8 and F2012 were lesser cars than they are now. The tires were not as much of a factor as people suggest. When an HRT wins I'll accept that the tires create a "lottery".
“To be able to actually make something is awfully nice”
Bruce McLaren on building his first McLaren racecars, 1970
“I've got to be careful what I say, but possibly to probably Juan would have had a bigger go”
Sir Frank Williams after the 2003 Canadian GP, where Ralf hesitated to pass brother M. Schumacher
Is it just me or does the sidepod intake look slightly different too? Lower-outside corner more rounded and overall shape slightly more letter-box shaped.

It's weird because the URL of 2 of the images suggests they were uploaded by 2 different people in India. Anyway on topic the new sidepod inlets remind me of the MP4-24 a little bit.
