What a race! ALO was metronomic and Lance was great too. Good Strat. Driver of the day for me is ALO!

Plus 16 points. We jump up to 6th in constructors(ahead of Kick and the bulls) by 1 point...

Alonso moves up to 4 position to tied with Stroll for 11th in Drivers.

The car had no pace in the first part of the race and then suddenly it was as fast as the front runners. Head scratching but I guess good points. We do need drag reduction boost soon cause after the Dutch gp there a lot fo low drag tracks coming.

Alonso was managing tires for a one stop from the start, it wasnt "no pace".

And he managed it way better since he was well clear of P6.

It's not easy to overtake here, so first stint pace was managed by ALO to keep tires alive for when needed or extend stint.

Nicely done, 2nd stint was really good.

They don't have a Drag problem. In Belgium anyways, They lacked DF. You notice how they went with bigger wings than anyone else there?

The car had the exact PACE they needed, when they needed it, in this race. They were controlling the pace and using it when needed.

Fantastic race from both Alo and Str.

Alo, what a masterclass...

The car, strongly improved performance in one week. Somebody should please explain this!

Great!!!

It's gonna be important to see if they can understand what made the car work here. If they can figure that out, then the next step would be to see if they can fine tune it to get more out of the tires.

We have to ignore SPA cause that was a setup cluster ---. High downforce wing, but no beam wings and the suspension setup for a wet race. SPA sprint showed car had pace if the qualified better.

There must be a lot of new racing fans not to realise that tyre management, at the beginning of a run, is something that Alonso will take to the extreme when the drivers behind cannot pass. He's done this countless times since the Pirelli era.

I was nervous that the team was going to be "reactionary" once again after Verstappen pitted early. They finally executed a good strategy and stayed the course. Nice.

That's not what Alonso is saying. Regardless of all the different things they tried in Belgium, the car just didn't work.

Alonso said their car isnt fit with low drag configuration, maybe the high speed setups mess with the car's windown configuration and they cant extract the maximum performance, but they had one of the highest top speed in hungary too, so, we need to wait, but, at least they finally improved the car during the season, its a good sign to next year. Last year we had "the hungary upgrade" and i remember to read that classic sentece from AM " we need to learn more about these upgrades". So, this year all things look more otimistics.

We went into this race not thinking we could maintain the same position and for whatever reason we actually had good race pace like 2023. Could manage things perfectly

Someone had mentioned, that Alonso said, their issue had something to do with the surface in Belgium. That it wasn't working with the floor.
So I suspect that means in Belgium, they didn't get the DF from the floor they expected.
