If I were Ferrari or Aston Martin I would protest
I would not . Any penalty would judt be 5s and only enough to take away 3 points from Merc (swapping Russell and Perez). Just tell your drivers to do something similar and keep russell's t2 excursion in your back pocket as "precedent" for it being okay
Remember Bahrain '21, when others tell their drivers to do what Mercedes' are doing then it suddenly becomes illegal.
Well I think that was a case of more people doing it highlighting to race control that there was abuse occurring.. not any sort of pro-mercedes conspiracy if you are inferring that

If you are then I'd suggest that these conspirators aren't doing a very good job.. :?

Max nearly kissed Newey there. Haha. You need to more than kiss him Max!

GR biggest benefit was on lap 1.
Still sceptical how he apparently gained no benefit by just cutting the track. no chance that didn't happen.
The alternative was a crash and red flag I guess.
Just give positions back once it's clear who you overtook illegally. Or 5s penalty.. nothing in the end. laughable.

I think it's just the case that he did what the rules require and ran through the "penalty lane". That the penalty lane can be quicker than the actual corner is the issue. It needs to be a slower lane.

He didn't pass anybody off track the places he gained were on the start
He passed Piastry off the track 100%. Not to mention he put himself in a position where he'll be forced to bail by being a 3rd car on the outside in T1. If he doesn't put himself there then he'd come out a further place or two back.
Pathetic stewards as usual. Steiner was absolutely right to call them out.

With a grand slam to boot

The statistics do not mean much however when the calendar blooms. Next year we'll have 25 grand prix probably. Absurd

Nobody showed anything in my feed, but it superficially it looked like one of those pre-planned cuts.
Yes he exit through the right, safe spot, but if he drove flat out aiming for that he gained time, it's different then when a guy misses his braking and is forced to readjust to go for that road.

Can't believe he got away with it.

I seem to remember an occasion where a driver took penalty lane but still got penalty later because he ultimately didn't give back position. I think it was in France.

What a dominant win for Max! He finally got a good start, despite being on the slower tyre! I didn't understand why RB went with Mediums and Hards for two stints as it was always going to be difficult to manage those. Softs-Mediums-Softs could have given a better margin than what it was in the end.

Not sure why Alonso is being high and mighty in holding his position behind Stroll… giving his P3 position in the championship, I’d be getting every point I could, particularly as it seems Mercedes is about to turn its season around…

Good to see them all enjoying themselves on the podium.

What a disastrous weekend for Charles! #-o Ferrari has completely lost the plot once again.

Hopefully Alpha Tauri protest the race result to get the penalty overturned

Ah, expecting consistency from FIA stewards. A nice idea but...
