Mclaren's wing from Imola had molding provisions for the update. You can see them in the old wing:

Awesome spot. Aligns with the rumour Mclaren already ran a compliant wing (not entirely) this season.
So the carbon fibre weave mustn’t have changed just the bracket and adjuster?
The rumor I saw (by not very credible Ted Kravitz.) was that Mclaren's wing was already TD compliant (That is clearly not true: https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewt ... 5#p1288695).

Regarding whether they changed the carbon fibre layup, I don't know but it doesn't matter. The wing before Spain wouldn't have passed the test, and if adding the slot gap separators and modifying the adjuster makes it more rigid, then they will pass the new test.
It doesn't turn.

Lot's of you don't understand that this change does immensely effect aero balance.
Awesome input. Thank you for your technical explanation to my misplaced beliefs

@SB15 this is the type of post you should aspiring to achieve
It still doesn't disprove my point. High speed cornering will be affected due to how much the wing the car is carrying, which leads to offset in terms of aero balance.

The Ferrari doesn't look to be effected by the TD as much because their front wing had the least flex of out the top 4 teams.

Typical F1 it’s full of ‘half-truths’ which then get spun as stone cold hard facts.
Ted probably knew that the weave was compliant but it needed the brackets to make it fully compliant but he wanted to be the big news breaker so told a ‘half truth’.

Like Gary Anderson said, no team will rock up to Spain without previously testing the a compliant wing before hand.

You think they ran it during pre-season testing?

Here you go. Ill see if there's any off Oscar.

Thats still flexing a lot if that's their TD compliant wing.

ah sorry, I meant I saw the wing and couldn't detect that it was stiffer

Maybe that's the lesson here...

Could just be lying lol. We will know tomorrow.
Apparently, Gary Anderson is suggesting Redbull and Ferrari will get heavily impacted by the new TD which I don't believe be we'll see tomorrow. They also mentioned that the Mercedes will probably become unstable in the high speed dude the CoP shifting further front. Looks like Merc planned it and decide to run a more heavily loaded rear wing this weekend.

The stiff wing was on Lando's car during second run in FP1 (Imola). They also had flow viz on the left rear suspension. He did a single hot lap on used soft with it, and then boxed again.
