If Mattia is sandbagging then dang, really rock on heart kind of stuff.
Doesn't sound good does it.
Why is it important what teams tell? Last year Hamilton told that they had a steep hill to climb to beat the Ferraris. He was right with the steep hill, but there were on the high end of the hill.

If Binotto is being honest we need RedBull to turn up. Nobody wants a Mercedes cake walk.

Surprised nothing broke on the Haas, that's some skill and luck.

I would generally agree with you but look at the Ferrari body language none of it even hints at confidence. Nothing I’ve seen on track makes me think otherwise either.

If this is a trick it’s on a totally different level to Mercedes last season.

Ferrari needs to worry about itself, Red Bull will be there, Mercedes is still sand bagging, they have another .7 in hand.

I've never heard Binotto telling they were the fastest, also not after Singapore upgrades when they in fact were the fastest. So what's all the fuss about that?
When Mercedes tells they are not fastest it's mind games, but Binotto is being 100% honest.

Ted has just quoted Binotto in saying when asked about being a Mercedes beater that ‘no not by Australia but maybe by the end of the season’ then when asked how it’s going that he wasn’t happy because they weren't fastest. Then when asked if they were second fastest he said ‘No’.

It doesn’t sound like Ferrari are a happy bunch ATM.
I just heard all that too. And then Ted left the booth, and Palmer, Herbert, and the other short guy completely ignore that bombshell of information and start shooting the --- joking about how short Johnny is and what not, waiting for Magnusson's car to bet cleaned up off the track.

Either Binotto is straight up lying or trying to pull something crazy to get everyone's focus off of Ferrari...or...Ferrari is screwed.

As a giant Ferrari fan I'm not happy. It sounds like the car is not the big step I was hoping it would be.

Most folks (on the Sky Sport telecast) yesterday were speaking generally about Red Bull being the primary challenger to Mercedes this year.

The part that kills me is we (at Maranello) had James Allison until his wife died and he moved back to England; now he's making clever Mercedes cars. Should be making clever Ferraris.

Nice straw man. Now read what I’ve actually posted instead of what you wanted me to post.

We've not seen any proper running from Ferrari yet. No one lap performances and also no race sim. If there's one thing we can know for now is that we here know nothing about Ferrari's performance potential.

I know, you've told "if" and I agree with you. Just mean the general fuss now.

I heard it also went ‘are you fastest?’ No. ‘Are you second fastest?’ No.

Also you can tell from someone if they are sandbagging or genuine when you talk to them face to face.

Looks like everyone had better hope the Red Bull is strong.

Comparing Hamilton's race sim to Verstappen's today, VER was ~.7 seconds off the pace.
