Mekies is getting all the brownie points. At this point he is doing his best to keep Max happy. Fair enough. In the end it wouldn't have mattered. Car was good.
The paddock chatter before his arrival at RBR is that he's a very good people person. As you say, Max would have won with either tire, but the dynamic in the team is clearly now taking more consideration for driver input.
Want to see that 2007 again. With two mclaren drivers fighting for the title and then the third one takes it in the final race. It would be the best story of the century...
