The way I understood it, now with the regulation changes having been postponed, teams are not allowed to work on their 2022 car this season. Someone please correct me, if I’m wrong.Spacepace wrote: ↑04 Jul 2020, 16:31Agreed!!! Yeah Ferrari should just write off '20-'21 and focus on engine and '22 chassisLM10 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2020, 16:27If I was Ferrari, I would put all recourses into engine development. They need to make big improvements before engine freeze.
No sense in going for upgrades this season anyway. They are over 1 and a half seconds slower than Mercedes and that’s on one of the shortest tracks.
I’ve the feeling Ferrari has the weakest engine now. How’s that even possible? Have they really only put effort into improving their engine trick in last couple of years? What a totally riskful move. Still can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed.
And with the budget cap still going to come next year, it will mean that the top 3 teams will have even less advantage. Otherwise they were going to build that new reg car without any budget limitation this season.
It’s interesting though that Ferrari seems to have pushed for the 2021 reg changes being postponed. One would think that they would have liked to work on that new project with limitless money.
