Each team has to get a good ammount of distance on the board today, id say 50 laps as the bare minimal they should do. A race distance in otherwords. Easily done for most teams. However, the new teams should attempt to put at least 120 laps on their cars today, as Lotus and Virgin especially are in dire need of the data and distance for the 2 out of the 3 new teams that will make the start of the season who have tested.

Don't expect new kit today, they will get a baseline setup with the old kit today and then change it later in the test so they can test comparatively.

11:25 Webber is now over a 1.1 seconds ahead of Hulkenberg. He is also the only driver in the 1:21s

11:25 As Webber flies again, lowering his best time to a 1:21.487!

The light systems will be fine now, the loss of refueling has reduced the risks hugely whilst also reducing the complexity of the stops.

The front jack guy is now in the most trouble I expect him to be pulled out the way or given a new jack to stand out of the way.

Thats a good point. I am surprised nobody seems to have timed any testing pit stop practice. Id like to see if any one team is doing it particularly quickly!?

Back in the day I remember McLaren being the fastest at stops. Getting down to something like 5 seconds. It was one way they could claw back time from the flying Williams Renaults. Obviously none of the crew members will be the same, but I wonder what a polished team will do it in- in race conditions under race pressure.

They are talking about <4secs...but I can't see it happening that way.

F1 Pitstops are process management heaven. They are an expert model on getting sh1t done! That's why F1 teams tend to get studied by big businesses.
