Interesting comments from Nico H:

AutoSport
Nico Hulkenberg believes that this year's Williams does not currently have the speed to match the pacesetters at this week's Barcelona test.

The reigning GP2 champion finished the first day of testing with the second fastest time, but his best lap of 1m22.407s was nearly one second adrift of Mark Webber's Red Bull.

Hulkenberg believes that Williams is part of a second group of teams slightly behind Red Bull and Friday morning pacesetter Ferrari, and unlike some other teams he is not convinced that it is possible to match their pace.

When asked if the FW32 was capable of matching the fastest times set so far at the test Hulkenberg said: "It's difficult. I think not quite, but we are not so far away.

"I think Ferrari and Red Bull are just a little bit faster everywhere. Then there is a drop down, with teams like us, McLaren, Mercedes, Renault, but it is so difficult to read.

how naive...but nice ...hopefully nobody decides to have a williams 2010 car in his private collection ,if the freight forwarder gets to know that his freight is already published in the web the insurance will rocket like never seen before...cost cutting in F1 ...

It's close between Red Bull and Ferrari. The track is obviously much quicker than yesterday and given the gaps between them and those behind it looks about even.

Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, I think you'll find.

What McLaren seems to have done at testing so far, is spend the first couple of days gathering data, (running aero monitoring parts and such), and the next couple of days actually putting hard times in. I have no reason to believe that this is different now.

Indeed, with his vast F1 experience, I have no reason to doubt him!

All this Hulk and Bulk business, it's all rather confusing ...

I wonder how genuine the pace of that Force India is. I'd like to see it being more competitive this year.

He's an F1 driver and has been testing for the last 2 years so excuse me if I add more weight to his opinion than I do a fellow arm chair enthusiast.

An individual lap time is random unless you know how much fuel was in the tank. Even when there is a 20 lap run they could anywhere between 60kg and 180kg of fuel.

I think if you plotted all the lap times you'd see a distribution of fast and low times emerge that would infer heavy and light fuel pace.

There was a greek site that listed every lap from Jerez, but I can't find the lap times for Barcelona. Would be delighted if someone can find that level of detail again. http://www.msfree.gr/ms.php?id=10691 [-o<

The track also seems to be much faster than yesterday. I don't think any of us believe that Force India or Torro Rosso are suddenly faster than Red Bull right now.

Well, until they actually do the times......and apart from a couple of flyers they didn't look too spectacular in Jerez. I hope we'll see soon enough.

@segedunum - Don't forget, Force India put good performances down on these sort of circuits last season - I wonder if it's the same case this season?
