Will Jenson drop a bomb on Mclaren to drive for Ferrari?

Post

He has done it to BAR and Brawn GP in the past, do you think Jenson will do it again with Mclaren and cross over to Ferrari?

Not really getting that impression from the article. I think he will stay (even with the tough media schedule), but he is just posturing a bit to make sure he gets the best deal for his services.

Mind you, the guy likes a challenge and perhaps driving next to Nando would suit him? Also, he could drive to work in just 4 and a half hours.

I always got the feeling that Jenson was the perfect number 2 (I'm sorry for those who disagree; I know there are people who disagree. My post is genuinely how I feel and not aimed at discrediting Button). He's not quite 100% there on raw pace, but is very consistent.

I dont blame anyone for jumpingfrom those , they stepping stones for a career improvement.....Mclaren to Ferrari is not such an obvious move.

After today's performance Button has to be watchful as Paul Di Rista is becoming hot property.

I think he is thinking about it.
One to watch as well is kovalinen. I think Ferrari would love to have in their car.
He is maturing pretty well in the Lotus, and his pace was never in doubt.
Actually a faster driver than Button, but was too inexperienced to put it together on race day at Mclaren. He is learning much in the Lotus.

Kovalainen sure is a good driver but he just broke under Hamilton ,didn´t he? Button seems to be gaining momentum over time and has put to rest all doubts as he is taking everything into account simply a match for Hamilton even though on raw speed Hamilton is quicker more often than not..but that seems to be not so important for scoring points over a season.

I wouldn't say he is a match for hamilton. 3 poor races, one being a no score, make it look that way, but it's reminiscent of Massa leading the championship last year with poor races from Alonso.
Ferrari could use Button still, but they may be annoyed with his demands for equal treatment.
He seems to be a burden with his equality demands. Mclren haven't used any of the new parts once again in silverstone, and more than likely this is due to Button, and he also seems to slow things down a bit when it comes to letting a teammate's faster strategy go unobstructed.
Alonso wouldn't mind Button either as he can gauge him against Lewis, but i think Button will be trouble when it comes to having a top shotter on the team.
For Sure!!

Hamilton is the faster driver, probably one of the fastest in F1 at present. However, Button is calm, calculated and has a head on his shoulders, which is why he's currently beating his team mate in the championship. The drivers have different qualities that can have a bearing on the tally at the end of the year, too.

He's ahead of Hamilton because Hamilton had a non-finish at Canada. He was beaten by Hamilton last year and it would be a brave man to bet on the outcome this early in the season - it's likely to be close at the end of the season. A non-finish by Button with a reasonable points finish by Hamilton at Silverstone will see the places reversed. It's that close at the moment.

We're not talking Vettel/Webber or Alonso/Massa points differences here...

I don´t see Button as a nr2 driver. Far from it actually. In many ways he´s a better driver then Hamilton and they could both learn something from each other.
I guess that´s also a reason why they work so good together.
The truth will come out...

I agree, they really are a perfect fit at Mclaren.
