Would really love a Days of Thunder style film, but a Mclaren/Ferrari rivalry one does sound good too!

I'd love to see a comedy along the lines of Talladega Nights with Sacha Baron Cohen playing "Alonso" again.

On a serious note, I hope the production of a film about F1 is put into knowledgeable hands and not some Michael Bay type infantile.

It's a shame we no longer have John Frankenheimer, he would have been perfect. Didn't like special effects, loved cars, directed classics such as Ronin and Grand Prix (way back in the 60s) - a sequel/remake/update of that would've been enjoyable.

It's been given to a bloke that loves cars and he has a $150 million budget. Sounds promising.

Sorry to stray off topic, and I agree that Sacha Baron Cohen's role was a good fit to Alonso, but Seb Buemi is a dead ringer for Jean Girard

Ron Howard normally makes a fairly good stab at telling a story well, so we will see.

:D nice one 42...

I'm half expecting to see Owen Wilson as Hunt and Freddy Krüger (Robert Englund) :o as Lauda after the crash.

Can't imagine Wilson pulling off a proper english accent though.

I think the suggestion that Tom Hanks play Enzo Ferrari would be brilliant! He does have that look about him :)

Surely it has to be Stephen Campbell Moore:

Has to be Robert de Niro or Pacino as Enzo!

John Candy would have made a decent Haug too!
Di Caprio as Rosberg, adrian brody as Kubica, de vito with a wig as ecclestone.
Justin timberlake as Vettel, mel Gibson as Paul stoddart...
Sadly no sane person could play eddie Jordan....
More could have been done.

I don't think a lot of those people were even born then, it's meant to be set in the 70's.

Ahh

I assumed it may encompass some modern shots too.

It's supposed to be about the rivalry between James Hunt and Nikki Lauda

The article is mainly about a potential movie with screenwriter Ben Younger writing it.

There is also a movie directed by Ron Howard about Nicki Lauda and James Hunt.

Two separate movies.

IMO Bernie will probably kill any good movie about F1 by demanding some nonsense.
